I often wonder how I got to this place… through all the trials and tribulations… how I somehow continued despite the derailment, the heartbreak, and the shattering of dreams. I did manage to survive it all, and to arrive here in this moment where I can see the blessings in my life, where I can see the beauty, where my heart is open with gratitude, and where my soul is at peace.
When you set your mind on something, you empower yourself to accomplish what it is that you have focused your energy on.
I had an idea last spring that became a driving force in my life. It is so simple really… because I became passionate about doing it. And when you are passionate about something, when you have a goal that you must reach, your energy and your vibration coupled with the energy and vibration that you create in the universe with that ripple, work together in harmony. When I sat at a training this month and realized that I was there – that I had pulled it off – I recognized the power within me. If I could manifest this training and accomplish it, what else could I manifest?! It was so exciting and empowering to recognize that I did indeed have the power within me all along.
I have been thinking about how New Years is coming and that there is always this pressure to make resolutions. Resolutions I might add that few of us are really able to keep. So I decided something. Instead of a resolution, I am going to make a promise – a promise to myself, to do something for myself each day. Something that will make me smile, that will make me feel good about who I am and the path I am on. As I thought about what promise I was going to make to myself, I thought about all the possibilities – exercise everyday, meditate every morning and night, take a class, eat healthier, sleep more… but I wanted it even simpler and easier to do. So I decided – I am going to wear something luxurious everyday. Be it a great sweater, a beautiful silk scarf, cashmere gloves perhaps… I want to feel something on my body that feels cozy and luscious. I want to sense beauty and softness on my skin… to remind me of my blessings and of the good that exists in the world.
What a perfect time of year to make a promise to one’s self… to do something that makes you feel good every day. Even if it is just wearing a favorite hat. Pave your path with joyful moments. Take heart in the present moment. Make a promise to yourself. No resolutions… a promise, to be kept daily. ~ jill <3
Every thought, feeling, sound, or action from us contributes to the nature of the vibration that emanates from our body. The truth is that we can attract similar energy vibrations to us. Have you ever been with a group of friends where the joy is so infectious that your belly hurt from all the laughter? Or conversely with a friend who was sad, and you felt that sadness in your own heart and soul. It is so important to be mindful of our energy and what vibrational message we are sending out. Breathing is the first step to our becoming aware of our energetic signature. Just breathing deeply, fully, in complete cycles of inhalation and exhalation, will help get our energy moving. Another really helpful practice, is to each morning before you do anything else, wake up your body. Spend the time each and every morning to ground and center yourself. Whether it is a simple stretch sequence or a personal yoga practice, spend the first few minutes of each day becoming mindful of how you feel – body, mind, heart, and soul. Scan your body as you stretch, as you breathe… Notice where the kinks are, notice what thoughts are getting stuck, and breathe and move through it. Get your energy flowing. Set your vibration to receive joy, happiness, patience, love… whatever it is that you want to embrace you.
