See the World through the Eyes of Your Heart

We live in complex times… We are all different yet the same, as we are all human, all part of humanity and the universe. We must embrace our lives, our relationships, and our world as the precious gift that it is, seeing that compassion of heart is truly the only path to both our inner peace and peace for our world.

I Must Be A Mermaid is the blending of my own personal soul searching with the inspirations and insights that I first found in the community of like-minded writers, healers, and teachers on Facebook. I dove in, created my page, and found the courage to swim through whatever was in my path, giving voice to my feelings through my personal observations and writing, as well as of those that spoke to me. With my I Must Be A Mermaid blog, I will fearlessly dive deeper into the realms of my heart and soul, swimming through their waters as a mermaid immersed in the sea of life.

Perspective for the day…

i see every day as a gift and a blessing

When we great each day with a grateful heart, the world holds much beauty and wonder. Our perception can allow us to see that clearly…  to understand what a gift each moment is… and how blessed we truly are.

Let the gratefulness flow…Day 5

we can only be said to be alive

Gratefulness. Truly we can be grateful only when we recognize what makes our heart sing, our soul swoon, our very being dance with delight. Open your eyes, your heart, your soul, your mind and see and feel and smell and touch and taste the world. It is through those experiences that we become conscious of our treasures.

Day 5:
1. I am grateful for the gift of love that I am able to give and receive.
2. I am grateful for the land on which I live and how it is bountiful with flowers and vegetables and fruit, and that it is home to so many lovely unique and colorful creatures.
3. I am grateful for the ocean and how it has called to me and reminded me that I have the soul of a mermaid.

What treasures are you grateful for?

Gratitude is Flowing! (Let the gratefulness flow…Day 4)

gratitude bestows reverence

1. I am grateful to be inspired everyday by the writing, philosophy, and wisdom of great thinkers. There are so many great works to read… so much insight and perspective to make us think about things deeply.

2. I am grateful to all the writers, artists, healers, and teachers who diligently post everyday on facebook, putting inspirational messages, and words of encouragement and support into our world. And I am grateful to be amongst them!
3. I am grateful for the time to just be able to sit and read! I am always delighted to have that space for myself. Not unlike being out in nature, it somehow helps ground me and allows me the reflection and thought I need.

What are you grateful for today?

Let the gratefulness flow… Day 3

Positivity Challenge, Day 3:
Sometimes you just have to be grateful for a moment in time where everything feels perfectly balanced. It is in those times that your worries, or doubts, or fears all melt away. There is no pressure and no sadness. More importantly, there is no expectation. You are divinely present on the continuum of time, and energy. Here are three moments from my recent travels – spectacular, beautiful, and exquisitely perfect in their own right – that I was blessed to witness and be a part of:

1. I caught this magical moment of water, light, and rainbows of color in Nimes;

2. I was mesmerized by the vibrant scent and color in the fields of lavender in Provence;IMG_1686

and

3. I was fascinated by all the doors and windows that we saw but was drawn to this beautiful painted doorway in the 13th century town of Roussillon.

What are you grateful for today?
what are you grateful for todayPositivity Challenge Day 2:
1. I am grateful for the sunshine that lights my day and brightens my path and generally makes everything look a little better than I thought.
2. I am grateful that I live so close to the ocean – and that I am able to see, hear, and feel it everyday. I make it a point to see the water at least once in my day, usually it is a walk on the beach, weather permitting of course!
3. I am grateful for the birds that sing outside my window in my backyard – reminding me that there is so much in life to sing and be happy about. Whenever I see creatures of nature I stop and watch how amazing life truly is.
Please join in and share what you are grateful for!

Spread A Little Gratefulness (Let the gratefulness flow… Day 1)

what are you grateful for

Oh, no! It’s the Positivity Challenge! I actually have been dreading this … hoping to not get nominated. But when I saw that I had been tagged in a post, I found I had no choice but to accept the challenge: “Today I nominate Dani Pring, Jill Alman-Bernstein and Arielle Manzi to begin the challenge where you name 3 things you are grateful for for the next 5 days and nominate 3 people to join in each day. Finding something to be grateful for everyday helps us see just how lucky and blessed we truly are. ~Rose, Believe The Best is Yet To Come.”

I figured it would probably be good for me to think about, identify, and be grateful for what is in my life. I bet it would make me feel better too. When we see and then focus on the good things around us, the blessings, the miracles, the positives, we do look at the world differently. There is a shift in our mood, in our perspective, in our attitude, and in our day. It was the having to nominate three people each day that was threatening to derail me. If you are like me, I cringe at chain letter type e-mails. And I am very uncomfortable about obligating other people. After all, how many e-mails and facebook posts asking us to send this to several people can we really participate in? And then I had this idea to post it here on I Must Be A Mermaid and invite all of you to participate. No pressure. If you are feeling it, you will do it. So for the next five days, starting today, announce, declare three things that you are grateful for. We will put our collective grateful energy into the universe. Imagine what we can create with all that gratefulness! So let’s do this together. Accept the Positivity Challenge!
